È anche Direttore Scientifico di CUOA Business School, Presidente dell’Organismo di Vigilanza del CINECA, Presidente dell’Organismo Indipendente di Valutazione della Performance dell’Istituto Superiore della Sanità e membro dello Strategic Steering Committee dell'EUI - European University Institute. È stato Magnifico Rettore dell’Università degli Studi di Udine e Presidente dell’Associazione Italiana di Ingegneria Gestionale.
